I'm using Adobe CC, not anything older, and I've been having an issue with a specific color not looking the same when I copy it from one Ai document and paste it into another Ai document. It's a pantone color, and both documents say it's the same pantone color, but the color in one document is noticeably darker than the color in the other (see below). However, when I convert both elements to CMYK in the color window, the values are different. Both documents' color modes are CMYK, the same setting is selected in Edit > Assign Profile..., and as far as I can tell, the color settings are the same (Edit > Color Settings...).

The only other thing I can think of that may be causing this is, if you look at the below screenshot, the color icon below the percentage on the pantone color window (windows at the top of the image) is different than the other (one is CMYK if you hover over it, and the other is Lab). If this is the issue, how would I change Lab to CMYK? If this is not the issue, does anyone know why this color change happens?

UPDATE: I found that if I convert the color from Pantone to CMYK in the first doc, and copy/paste to the second doc, the color does not change. But then changing it back to the pantone color in the second doc makes it darker yet again.

Okay, panic mode sets in.

So images on the output PDF look really off compared to what is in the working document.

What do any of you wizards need to know to help get me out of a jam?

The image on the left is from the Printers proof and the working image from the ID document is on the right.

The photographs through the whole document are like this. Muddy and just not right.

The CMYK are a custom Profile from the Printer. Have used this many, many times with zero problems. Maybe I accidentally changed a setting?

Hi,

I open a lot of PDF's in my job.  I recently had to switch from Microsoft Edge because I couldn't read certain PDF's for some reason.  However, when they open in Reader they open too small for me to read.  I don't want them to open at full screen because if they do it's too wide and I can't read down the page without scrolling.  I just want Adobe to automatically open to the same size it was closed in.

The only answer I found in all my searching was from 2015 and involved editing a bit of code, however the answer was four years old and I can't find that code anywhere now, it must have been taken out in an update, or I just can't find it (for those curious it was HKCU\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobt\DC\ExitSection, changing bLastExitNormal from 1 to 0).

Is there a way in 2019 for Adobe to accomplish the very simple task of remembering it's window size and location?

And since I know someone will recommend it, "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" doesn't do anything.

I have this audio that was captured with as shotgun microphone. It has a alot of echo and distance audio sound. When I try to clean it up, it gets robot sounding.

Yesterday everything was fine. Today I opened indesign (CC 2017) and opened a file to work on and I can't see the file. Indesign says it is open, the panels etc are there but I can't see the file. I went to Creative Cloud and it said I had updates pending, so I updated hoping that might fix it (so I now have CC 2018) but the problem remains. I have restarted my Mac several times. I have tried unplugging my laptop from big monitor but the problem remains. I have tried opening other InDesign files and have the same problem all of them.

Please help as I urgently need to do some work and can't do anything at the moment as I can't see my file.

I just scanned a really large book that has very thin pages, and I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions on how best to clean up the pages to minimize the appearance of the material from the reverse of each page. I've attached a screenshot here of part of a page that shows the issue.

At the moment, all evars are of two types i.e. string or counters.

However, for several industries - like travel (departure date, check-in date), discount sites (deal expiry date) etc., dates need to be captured. There is no easy way to then filter out date ranges for the evar. (Doing SAINT classification for every date range one might want to select is insane). Similarly, for numeric data like price, quantity, visit number etc. filtering out reports for values in certain range - there is no easy way.

Allowing admin to specify data types and thereby providing compatible ways of filtering out data would be a great help.

Whenever an eVar contains a numerical value, I painfully realize that I can not use "is greater than" or "is less than" on its value to create a segment. This is often very hindering. Any chance to get this allowed?

I did contact Client Care about this as I believe it's a bug / defect but they advised it's working as per design, if so the design would seem to be a bit flawed.

The introduction of visibility control for an event was a great idea (though I'm still waiting on the same for dimensions). The concept of hiding except for builders so the front end isn't bombarded with unnecessary events makes a lot of sense, we can rely on calculated metrics to surface what we want, how we want and with any necessary modifications (e.g. segments or calculations). What doesn't make sense to me though is that to me the idea was about making things easy in the front end, Data Warehouse however can't use calculated metrics which means if you want to use any event in Data Warehouse you can't use the function. I would view Data Warehouse as a 'builder' given you can't use calculated metrics (in the same way you can't in builders) and it's designed for more technical users getting out large scale data.

Not being able to access these metrics in Data Warehouse has meant we can't actually use the brilliant feature, which is such a disappointment, please help!

I am a textile PSP (print service provider) and I work with seamless patterns which I set up in Illustrator.

I recently started filling the pattern in a rectangle to place it with a selvage to repeat vertically; so I could white label the patterns I print R2R (roll to roll). 

I am facing an issue when I do Artboard > Fit to Selected Art to map the rectangle filled with the pattern next to the selvage, which is a text box; because after I do Export > Export as, Use Artboard > Range : 1 and save as JPEG, I double check the jpeg to see if the frame I created is seamless vertically; but it isn't. The last line or edge of pixels from each side of the image are faded or more white causing the appearance of a white line.

I choose to work with JPEG because it is compact and it allows the artboard to be saved in the pattern's original CMYK color space for print.

I wasn't able to find a solution on the forum here because I am not sure what I should be searching.

In the Fallout visualization, you can right click on a touchpoint and select "Breakdown fallout at this touchpoint."  The result is a table (below) that lists alternate touchpoints rather than the desired one.  I was going through this report with a user the other day a realized that the total was lower than adding up the visits for each page.  Generally Analytics de-duplicates visits and the like in these circumstances.  Because each fallout scenario is based on visits (not visitors in this case), I'm not clear of one where de-duplication is necessary.  Shouldn't each visit be discrete?

On lots of websites I need to have adobe flash player in order to use them. I go to the link that's suppose to help me install adobe flash player, but it never installs. ( http://www.pakistanjobs.pk ) So basically it's kind of confusing but any ideas on what I should do? Thnks. 

I have just tried to start Illustrator 2019 and it always gets stuck trying to initialise SmartEditUI.aip on the splash screen and then it freezes and stops responding.

My office regularly creates multiple page documents and then saves as PDF. we then file these documents with the county using CyberDuck as our FTP client. The problem is, the documents come in as corrupted with the county as the file sizes are far too large. According to the county, its because they are really saving in greyscale and not a pure black and white image (like if we printed, scanned, and then efiled the scanned image PDF). Is there a simple way to to strip all of the extra information from the PDF that is converted from Word?

I've got a question and need a help with something.

I've created a check list that users will fill in on the tablet (android) and each page contains a form txt field to place a comment if something is wrong with the equipment.

I would like that comment to be copied to the list on the last page so the user don't need to copy each comment and place it there afterwards. The problem is that the document is made out of 32 pages and not every comment box will be filled in as the comment will be there if something is wrong.

The script will have to know that the comment written in the box has to be placed in the next available box on the list.

Could anyone give me an advise how this script should look like and if its actually possible to achieve that kind of a trick.

I know the dangling and swaying legs are a common problem and is usually
fixed by adding fixed bones or handles to the body group on the feet.

HOWEVER

In order for my to pose the legs efficiently, I needed to make the legs independent.
This causes them to sway and danger when my head moves.
No amount of fixed handles on the body (which doesn't recognize independent parts as being parts anyway)
or on the whole character, or on the legs themselves, fixes this problem.

Please tell me there is a way to stop independent limbs from moving.
My alternative idea to fix this is ugly... that would involve having a swap set
of legs. one set for static default pose and one set for movement (with compensation of the dangle manually)
