Clik here to view. I have been breaking websites left and right since replacing Dreamweaver CS5 with CS6. I could not figure out what was happening until I learned that the files I was uploading were corrupted. These were clean files before I uploaded them. The only thing that changed was 1) I bought a new MacBook Pro and 2) installed the new Dreamweaver CS6. I was told by one of my template providors to set the ftp upload settings to "Auto" but I can't find any way to set those preferences in Dreamweaver. I hope I'm wrong, but nothing else has worked. I've been using Dreamweaver to troubleshoot CSS and ftp files for years, with hundreds of we sites.
Also, I can't use the LIVE view function successfully with CS6, even though the site settings have not changed. When I try to DISCOVER files, I get this error: an unknown error occurred while discovering dynamically related files. Retry - which doesn't work.
Without live view, and without FTP, Dreamweaver has become useless to me. I build my sites live on the server using Joomla and only use Dreamweaver for CSS using LIVE view and then ftp. If I had known this would happen I would never have joined Creative Cloud. I would have kept CS5.
