Something for the weekend - Part 55 - A little repair job.
Hi
Most "Do it Yourself" enthusiasts will have a repair job or two lined up for the weekend so I thought we should have one for our challenge. The image below is Dunstanburgh Castle in Northumberland, which made a distant appearance in SFTW Part 1. It could do with a little work though since it was built in 1313 and 1322.
So for this week - can you rebuild the castle? Of course, this being SFTW, there is no limit to what modifications you may choose to incorporate along the way
Anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.
There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.
To download the image below in jpeg format with ICC color profile (sRGB) and without the forum scaling artefacts , right click and then use Save Image As /Save Target As (or similar depending on your browser).

sRGB exports darker / workaround
Hello--
after looking for solutions yet again for sRGB exports being about one stop darker (and the standard "calibrate your monitor" circular non-solutions) I did notice that exporting the jpeg while the image is set to "soft proofing" for sRGB exports it correctly. The resulting jpeg looks exactly as it does in Lightroom.
note: turning on soft proofing set to sRGB shows no visible change to the picture on screen.
So the question is why doesn't the export dialog do the exact same thing? (if there is a way to automate this / add the soft proof step to the export, please let me know)

Script to batch rename, have first file as a number, the rest sequential alphabetical
I just can't seem to figure this one out! The database I'm working with has a rule that the first image needs to be numerical and the rest of the image span to be sequential alphabetical.
For example, I'll have these images:
IMG_2013.jpg
IMG_2014.jpg
IMG_2015.jpg
IMG_2016.jpg
IMG_2017.jpg
and need to rename them for whatever the UPC is, for example:
982371818.jpg
982371818a.jpg
982371818b.jpg
982371818c.jpg
982371818d.jpg

Photoshop won't open file as smart object from lightroom
Hi, I have problem with photoshop. I tried to open raw file as smart object in photoshop from lightroom by clicking edit in photoshop as smart object in lightroom and photoshop open but it won't open the file that I want at all. Can someone help me to fix this? I tried looking for the answer but no luck. Thanks!

Upgrade from Eocene era software
Believe it or not, I'm on a computer running Windows 7 (it's about 7 years old) and Lightroom 4 and Photoshop 6.
What I want is a new computer running Windows 10 and the current release of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.
Naturally, I want to migrate all my files to the new computer and have all my existing pictures (DSC, JPG and NEF)
available in the new Lightroom. I need advice on how to proceed. Thanks.

Ligthtroom ClassicでRAWデータだけ読み込みません
表題の通りですが、RAWだけ取り込みができません。
JPEGは取り込み可能でSDも確認できているのでSDの問題でもなさそうです。
少しバージョンを下げたりアップデート、疑われるアプリの削除等しましたが改善しません。
LightroomCCでは問題なくRAWが取り込めます。
原因と解決策をご存知でしたらご教授いただきたいです。

Keyboard working intermittently after update to v9.1.12.3
System Info:
Adobe XD CC v: 9.1.12.3
OS: Windows 10 Pro v: 1803 build: 17134.112
64-bit, 12GB RAM, Intel i5-6300U CPU @ 2.40Ghz
Issue:
After the latest update, the keyboard stops working.
The app freezes when the text field I'm trying to edit is selected.
The entire app doesn't freeze but all keyboard input is lost.
Sometimes saving will 'unfreeze' it but I still am unable to type.
I have to exit, kill in task manager, restart, and functionality is lost almost instantly after restarting.
The same thing happens if I use built-in keyboard or external Logitech.
I sort of need to be able to type when I use XD...
Any help or tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Adding Closed User Group 6.4
Hi,
When attempting to add a closed user group to page properties, the touch UI page is missing options at top. I am unable to do anything on this tab. I am logged in as admin. I have tried clearing browser cache and have also tried different browsers (Chrome, Safari and Firefox). Also updated to 6.4 SP2 - with no luck. On advanced tab, "authentication requirement" is enabled and I have a login page specified. Any ideas?

Fuse Startet nicht
Da lädt man sich eine Halbe Ewigkeit Fuse herunter, danach wird man Angemeckert das etwas nicht Stimmt und man soll das Repairtool laden und danach Funktioniert immer noch nichts.
Da Frage ich mich wozu habe ich da eine Ewigkeit auf das Download Ende Gewartet wenn das Programm überhaupt nicht Funktioniert ?
Was soll das Adobe, keine Lust mehr den Kunden Info´s zu geben vorher oder was soll das ?

Pop up window after splash screen which won’t load
Upon launching either Indesign or Illustrator on windows 7, the programme launches fine, my projects launch fine but I get a pop up window that launches in the centre of the screen, preventing me from doing anything. It has the adobe logo in the top left and a progress wheel in the centre. This doesn’t get past a quarter of the wheel full (if that makes sense). I’ve restarted my computer numerous time to no avail! Very frustrating, it wasn’t happening when I last used the programme on Friday! Anyone know what the problem could be?

Decimal numbers in expression
Hi! I have created a counter on a text layer that counts length in increments om 40 cm controlled by a slider, I added this expression to the source text property and it works great except for the decimals.

x = Math.round(t/.4)*.4+0.0001
x = x + " Meter"
x.toString().replace(".", ",");
It now counts 0,001 Meter.... 0,4001 Meter... 0,8001 Meter.... 1,2001 Meter..... but i want it to only show 2 decimals: 0,40..0,80..1,20..1,60...
I added the +0.0001 in Math.round to get decimals at the whole numbers. I.e. 4 Meter is now 4,0001 Meter... But how do I remove the last two digits? Or is there another way to always show 2 decimals? I need the counter speed to be controlled over time and masking is a problem since the font I use is not monospaced.

Problème d'affichage de Photoshop Elements 2019 sur écran 4k
J’ai installé Photoshop et Premiere Elments 2019 . L ‘affichage des menus principaux de Première sur mon écran DELL 4k, bien que plus grand que les autres programmes, est acceptable. L’affichage de Photoshop par contre est beaucoup trop grand (inacceptable).
Remarques :
-Les menus secondaire par contre sont tous petits
-La version précédente (Elements 12) de ces deux programmes affichait tout en petit mais je pouvais au moins corriger ce problème par Windows 10 (résolution 4k et affichage a 150%) maintenant c'est impossible.

InDesign CC 2019 sehr langsam!

Ich arbeite an meinem iMac (Version 10.12.6) im neuen InDesign CC 2019.
Ich habe mehrere Dateien bereits als eine Buchdatei erstellt, da ich ein Buch setzen muss.
Zwei dieser Dateien / Beiträge (mehrere Autoren) sind etwas größer als die anderen (ca. 100 Seiten lang).
Genau bei diesen Beitägen ist mein InDesign extrem langsam. Jeder klick im Text um eine Autorenkorrektur auszuführen, dauert mindestens 20 Sekunden wenn nicht sogar länger.
Prefliight ist deaktiviert, Inteligenter Textumfluss ist ausgeschaltet, Bilder habe ich ebenfalls noch nicht platziert, Fußnoten sind alle sauber mit Absatzformaten genau so wie der übrige Text. InDesign 2018 habe ich mal vorsorglich deinstaliert das hier keine Konflikte entstehen sowie mehrfach schon ein IDML Dokument erstellt und mal in CC 2018 (als es noch instaliert war) geöffnet.
Bei zwei meiner Kollegen läuft es ebenfalls sehr langsam (haben schon probiert ob es an meinem iMac liegt, obwohl dies der neueste von allen ist).
Fußnoten Spaltenübergreifend darstellen habe ich ebenfalls schon mal ausgeschaltet. Alles bringt keine verbesserung.
Hat jemand eine Idee was ich sonst noch probieren kann? Kostet alles os unglaublich viel Zeit.
