Adobe XD CC fails to start

Have just downloaded the app from the site. App version 4.8.1.435. Windows 10 version 1809 (build 17763.194), English.

When I try to open an .xd file or simply load the app, it opens a blanc screen and then shuts down.

In the Event Viewer there is the following error:

When I create a new artboard, I am able to move it around. However, once I add a circle, I can no longer move it, and can only be moved by x/y coordinates.

Hello,

I've searched the forums and Google and I can't find an answer to my problem.

I've been using Acrobat perfectly well for a number of years and marking up all manner of pdf's from designers and lawyers in that time. Open the file and simply start marking up. No issues.

I had my Surface replaced recently due to a hardware fault and on re-installing Acrobat I cannot for the life of me work out how to auto-detect the pen again. I'm now stuck with having to choose the pen mark-up icon and 'pin' it to keep it in use.

Now doesn't recognise the eraser end of my surface pen and pressure etc no longer detected. I know it works because it's been my saviour for ages but I cannot work out what I'm doing wrong or how I managed to set it up before.

Can anybody help?

When I select multiple PDF files and try to combine them into one document, I get a message that "Adobe Acrobat has encountered and unidentified error" and no file is being created. This problem has only recently started as I have been able to merged documents in the past.

Hello,

While performing a build upgrade from 8050 to 8192 we encountered an issue with a custom schema definition which is based in part on a calculated field and was wondering if anyone had guidance on how to resolve it.

Error: The value of key 'b' is not present in return parameters of table 'Tbl_y'

Details of table structure:

Table: Tbl_x Tbl_y Tbl_z

Field: a <> b*

Field: c <> d

Field: e <> f

*b is a calculated reference to a field on Tbl_z, i.e. [FK_Tbl_y_Tbl_z\@name]

Post build upgrade deliveries and workflows that tried to leverage information from Tbl_y failed due to the above error.

Any ideas?

Hello, all,

CFCs. Some of us love them (I DO), others not so much, maybe. But I'm curious about something.

I recently posed a plea for help while just learning if something were possible in CF: a dispatch table.

Basically, a dispatch table is an object that can perform boolean comparisons, much like a switch/case, but there's no string comparison - you drill straight to the object property.

Which, now, makes me wonder. Is a CFC like a dispatch table (the various CFFUNCTIONs are properties of an object, ie the CFC), or more like a large switch/case (the various CFFUNCTIONs just the equivalent of <cfcase value="myFunctionName">...</cfcase>, in which string comparisons are performed in order to get the correct code)?

Just curious.

Spacing between artboards

Is there a way to set the spacing between artboards BEFORE extra artboards are added? My artwork usually extends beyond the artboard (ex cropped placed images) so the "rearrange artboards" with "move artwork with artboard" checked results in a total mess.

I have made a circle using the ellipse shape tool and no stroke nor fill and wanted to put type on a path using that ellipse circle shape... but the type on a path menu item is grayed out... Do I need to convert the shape to a path? ... it already looks like a path, but what am I missing here... tia for help with this...

Just updated my Mac to Mojave today.

Liquify is creating black pixels when used.

I have tried to optimize performance but I still get the same error.

I have a super fast machine, so is not a RAM error. Liquify was working normally before Mojave OS.

In the image below, I have slightly adjusted the smile of the subject.

Need help adding an auto populated expiration date for labels.

For example. When the label is opened today I would like it to auto populate todays date plus 5 days or 7 days depending on the label.

The labels are made in illustrator but opened and printed as pdf in adobe acrobat.

I'm running into an issue where my work machine opens all CC apps MUCH slower than my lower-spec home machine, and am currently trying my hardest to figure out why.

I've created an example video of opening a fresh instance of After Effects here, but all apps show similar issues... taking twice as long, or more, to open on a machine that is arguably twice as powerful.

Home PC:

Windows 10 Home

Intel Core i7-6700 Quad Core 3.40GHz

32GB RAM

Nvidia GTX 1080

Work PC:

Windows 10 Pro

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX 32 Core 3.00GHz

128GB RAM

Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti x2

Both machines have the most current OS updates and graphics card drivers, are running the same (most current) versions of all CC apps, and have the same plugins installed.

One specific symptom, that is interesting (and extremely frustrating), is that while any CC app is loading on my faster work machine, everything else becomes extremely unresponsive. The mouse will freeze in its tracks, and I can't move, interact with, or close any other open windows. Looking at the task manager, all activity (CPU/RAM) is hardly budging the entire time. Example video here. Edit: Sorry, I just realized that my ability to screen record seems to be getting affected during program-load as well, as this is really glitchy. Also, the mouse keeps circling, as I was hoping it would help illustrate when the "freezes" happen.

I've read through, and have tried a number of suggestions from various other "CC2019 is running slow" threads, but have yet to find anything that makes any noticeable difference.

I would rather not have to downgrade to CC2018, especially as 2019 is running as expected, and without issue, on my home machine.

Hi Masters!

I’m working with templates and components developed originally in CQ 5.6.1, but now deployed on an AEM 6.4 instance.

Basically, my templates are static templates with some typical <cq:include path="par" resourceType="foundation/components/parsys"/>. I know the components need the new TouchUI dialogs (cq:dialog), but we can start with the EXT version for now.

At first sight, site pages work fine in TouchUI. They render well. Also, I’ve checked the Blueprint/Livecopy functionalities and works fine. But the problem is that we can’t see the ‘edit’ button when we click on any component. We can only see ‘Copy’, ‘Group’ and ‘Convert…’. The component is already on the page, so it’s not a ‘design mode’ issue.

Any idea?

WAAAAY back when, Freehand had a button that you could click to ensure that the handles of an arc between two straight lines would precisely match the angles of those straight lines... you could pull them longer or shorter, but stay locked to that angle. Is there something similar in Illustrator now? Or am I just stuck eyeballing it? (It's driving my OCD crazy.)

I have tried consistently importing and re-importing, changing file names, moving where files are located, or destined, I have re-encoded the film twice today and still getting the same error code, it would seem adobe no longer support this software fully, how do I go forward here? I have a client waiting on a Blu-ray disc of their wedding.

Painting out sensitive information in scanned PDFs with photoshop

I have come across some scans I made of some important papers in PDF format. They were done in color, but are mostly black and white forms that were filled in with handwriting. However, they have sensitive info on them like social security numbers. I am to upload these into the cloud, but was worried about the SSS numbers, so I opened the PDFs in Photoshop, used a paintbrush tool, and "painted" out the numbers on the form with a white color from the color swatches, so now it looks like that part of the form was never filled out. I then saved the PDF as a .tiff file. Then I would convert the .tiff back to PDF.

My question is, is this enough to make the documents safer in the cloud? could a hacker get in, and somehow find the numbers I painted out in photoshop? I used white in 100% hardness to be opaque.

I could go back to the original paper documents, use a black marker, or white out pen, (whichever would be better)? and blot out the info, and then scan the document again as another PDF. But to me it seemed labor intensive, since I have a ton of these papers to go through, scan, and then shred the paper. I thought if I already have a scan of them, why not blot out the info in Photoshop?

Which would be better? marker, then rescan? or "paint" out the info in photoshop if I already have a scan of a document?

I recently made the switch from Audition 3.0 to CC. I'm looking for help with two things I have yet to uncover in preferences and internet searches. First, is there a way, by default, to not have "_mixdown" as part of the file name when you export a multi track session? (Other than doing it manually each time.) Secondly, when I used to mix out a multi track session in 3.0, the mixed-out file would immediately open. When I now do it in CC, the mixed-out file appears in the list of files, but doesn't open automatically. Is there a setting to automatically open the mixed-down file immediately? Thanks!

lightroom export from JPEG to DNG

Hi guys!

I am *fairly new to lightroom but not new to adobe products. I have made presets that I would love to sell, but I am unable to export my files as DNG.

Saving as JPEG does not enable the file to show the edits (so you can't share presets) and I have been tinkering with this for weeks and weeks. I CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT. I can't find any option to "export" let alone to DNG.

PLEASE help me !
