The update server is not responding

When trying to update my CS4 Web Premium suite, I get an error stating, "The update server is not responding, which means it might be offline at the moment, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect.  Please try again later."

 

I've been getting this error for several weeks now (on my desktop only) and updates used to work up until that point.  Updates still work fine on my laptop and other desktops that the software is licensed for.  I've seen a thread somewhere on the Acrobat forum that says to deactivate a Microsoft virtual wifi miniport network adapter, but my desktop doesn't have that listed anywhere...

 

I'm on XP professional sp3.
