Making a External Style sheet

HI, I've created a site not knowing exactly how the style sheets work but caught on as the site completed.  My questions is the style sheet I want was actually saved to the document I was on.  Is there a way to copy that style sheet (which incudes my navigation buttons and all the css I like) to an external style sheet I can use for future sites I create.
