I am a new Premiere Pro user. I upgraded from Pinnacle and an older Windows 7 PC so I could have a much easier time editing multiple video streams together. I record a lot of my kid's performances and school events using 3 - 4 Canon Vixia HDs. I have a HF M301 and a HRF200.
I built this machine just for video editing and for hardware/software it has:
- 8-core Intel i7-3770 CPU @3.4 GHz
- 32 GB RAM
- 3GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580
- 7200 rpm 2 TB internal HD (4x)
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - SP1
- Adobe Premiere Pro, Version 6.0.3 (001 (MC: 264587)
When I originally built the machine I had a GeForce GTX 560, and I contacted an Adobe tech support person to chat and they told me the 560 was the problem because it was not supported. $500 later with the new card installed, I am STILL getting the EXACT same choppy performance in the multicamera mode! (Thanks a LOT Adobe support!)
I tried recoding the video as an MP4 and I get the same thing. While I'm waiting for (hopefully) an answer or suggestion here I'll try recoding it as an AVI.
I'd VERY much appreciate any insight anyone has on how I can be successful in getting this done.
BTW: I've read in the forums that version 5.5 didn't have this issue - but the Adobe tech support told me I couldn't downgrade my version and that Adobe doesn't sell 5.5 anymore. Wow.
