Dear ladies and gentlemen,
is there a chance that HEVC-decoding will be added in the windows version of premiere too?
On mac, h.264 AND HEVC are supported, but on win-machines we are stuck with only h.264 decoding.
Here are some examples:
Windows 10 (German):
MAC OS Mojave:
If you place the cursor over the MAC setting, it says that both h.264 AND HEVC are accelerated.
Would really like to see this feature on windows too for that extra power to process Fuji XT3 files with the i7 8700K. That CPU can´t handle those files very well.
Remember the old days when h.264 acceleration came out and my ivy bridge laptop was flying through the timeline with h.264 files while the i7 2600k sandy bridge was struggling just like the 8700k with the h.265 files nowadays. (Premiere only takes advantage of intels quick sync with the third core i CPU´s, called ivy bridge)
I´m working with proxies right now but when starting sharpening an grading, I need to turn them off an then the system isn´t very fluid anymore.
Cheers tom
