I want to get to the bottom of this problem. Even if there's absolutely no solution i want to find out just why this is happening.
I routinely create some MP4 videos out of MS Power Point slides and import them into After Effects. Power Point has some handy presets i can't seem to duplicate in AE so I still keep using the program to create videos and add those videos in AE for special effects. These videos contain audio. If I create a composition and import the PP video, i can hear the sound files embedded in them. Now, if I decide to make changes to the PP slide and save it again and open After effects, the visual animations are present but any new audio isn't and I have to resort to having to manually add the sound bite into After Effects in the timeline even though the audio is present in the PP slide and video output. Today, I did this but deleted the project file, purged my disk cache, closed out everything, even cleaned out all my Windows temp files and logged out of my user account, logged back in, and created a whole new AE project and composition with the same videos. Lo and behold, the new audio tracks I added in the PP video are missing and I still have to add them in manually in the timeline in AE. How does this program have such a wonderful memory for bad?
Even if there's absolutely no solution here I would just like to know what is going on. Once I create a composition with a PP video I cannot add any more sound to the presentation slide and save it to the same video and import it into AE and expect to hear the newly added sound bites.Even deleting the project file and starting over from scratch doesn't help. Once I import a PP presentation I saved in MP4 format to an Adobe After Effects composition I am stuck with what audio I originally had in the video. Any new changes in audio will not be picked up, even if I completely delete the project and start over, clear out my disk cache, restart my computer, etc.
Hopefully somebody has a magic wand I can wave over this program so i can get it to behave the way I want it to.
