Yet another big FAIL by Adobe

I'd like to start with mentioning, that I as most of you are and have been for years a big fan of the Flash platform. I tried to contribute to the community in various way, if less than others, advocated pro Flash for years and last not least payed several thousand Euros/Dollars for the software.

I also know that nobody is perfect, but I cannot stop wondering if Adobe intentionally tries to discredit themselves, Flash and with it all of us.

Giving up the mobile platform surely being the worst and most obvious mistake, having no clear answers and strategy ('Catalyst anybody?....') the other thing and missing every chance there is to positions Flash in any positive context ('wouldn't we al love to have vectors for retina displays....') only one more fail.

And now an update to the player, that breaks millions of perfectly good as2 sites?

I really don't get it. The Flash community is really crowded with excellent, open-minded, clear and sometimes brilliant thinking people (at least it was before a lot of them have jumped ship) and yet Adobe is not able to draw on that resource.

I think we really should try to invoke a big ****-storm, maybe that would give the platform a last chance to at least survive in it's niches. Or if they are not interested the should just donate the technology to the community - no one it seems can do worse than them.

BTW: Sure I also do lots of 'HTML5'-stuff (pardon the use of the silly buzz-word - I kwon better), but there are so much problems with this, especially after having  used AS3 and tools like Flash-Develop, it feels so clumsy and there are so many things Flash solved years ago, where there is no answer even in sight with HTML5, Javascript CSS3 Canvas, SVG etc.
