Hi,
I am running a test environment in preparation to deploy in our domain. We have run into an issue where we are unable to upgrade from 10.1.3 to 10.1.4 via .msi. Previous installs via this method have worked with no issues. I have conducted tests by installing 10.1.2 and upgrading to 10.1.3 via .msi and no issues have occurred. However, trying to upgrade 10.1.4 does not work.
This has been done by extracting the 10.1.4 contents, emulating a network install and then applying the 10.1.4 update to the network install .msi.
Note: As I mentioned earlier this is the method used in the past to extract and deploy acrobat reader and have had no issues.
When attempting to install we receive the following error:
“Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel.”
PC and Software details are:
Windows XP SP3
Adobe Reader X:
- Version 10.1.3
- Version 10.1.3.23
- AGM Version 4.21.19
- CoolType Version 5.8.113
- Core Version 10.259
- JP2K Version 2.0.0.14587
- ADM Version 10.01x23
Eventually we will need to deploy an .msi package however it seems strange that we are unable to install over the top like we have in the past.
